Info about painkillers, 25 Oct
Grandma is on two types of painkiller. One is Fentanyl, in patch form. It is smaller than a Band-Aid and sticks to her clavicle. It administers a painkiller in a slow-release form over a 72 hour period. The second is morphine. Grandma has a standing order that she can receive 2-4 mg of morphine every 2 hours as needed. It is up to the family to decide if she needs it. It has been referred to as a maintenance drug, but really that is the Fentanyl.
