Update from Jonah, 20 Oct

10:35pm update: Ruth and Lang came to the hospital an hour ago. After Lang and Keeng turned Mom on to her back she became more and more alert. Ruth and Lang fed her about 12 spoonfuls of rice porridge. She asked where Ruth had been. We had to explain that Ruth was around earlier in the day and she had to go home to cook for the others. Mom was almost tearful and said we had to come such long distances, Keeng reassured her that it was because of her love for us that we were here. In fact, Deng and Yao would be coming soon. Mom started objecting to the idea but Keeng, Ruth and Lang managed to calm her protests and they spent some time admiring the posters the children made this afternoon. They started talking about grandchildren and she mentioned 'the' bachelor. We had to tell her that the bachelor had married and even has a daughter, mei mei. She misunderstood and thought Cara already has a child! Then she declared in Malay that there are many descendants. Mom said that she was thirsty. We gave her ginseng tea through a straw. She had several sips. Later she said she was thirsty again. We gave her more ginseng tea. We hope to give her Xango and Ensure also. Mom has been watching TV and moaning a little. Take care.
