If you are planning to fly to Jacksonville, the closest airport is Jacksonville International (JAX). The hospital is actually only 12 miles from the airport. The closest hotel locations would be near the airport, in downtown Jacksonville, or points in between. Cara, Sanford and I stayed at a hotel near Dad's house last week; it was only fair, but can't be beat for convenience. Contact one of us if you would like information. At some point Grandma will be moving to a Hospice facility. Our first choice is a site that is here on the Shands campus, so the hotel recommendations would be the same.
