Update #4 from Ruth, 22 Oct

Keeng and I arrived at 2.15pm to relieve Megan and King. Grandma was awake and she waved with her right hand when I waved to her. Knowing who I was, she again expressed concern whether I have enough sleep. It could be she is still harking back to the first day on Fri when we brought her to ER. We were still with her till next day Sat and on that day, she expressed she was sorry we had to be deprived of sleep keeping her company. I have learnt first hand, that grandma, the caring person she is, even in the midst of her own discomfort, she is concerned of others' comfort. She carried on a minute of back and forth conversation with Keeng and King on who is more naughty. Swee Leng, third aunt's daughter called from England. Grandma said she knew who she is and even mentioned about 3rd aunt. The nurse wants us to find out her mental condition by asking questions like where she is etc. She does not seemed to understand when Keeng told her hospital in Hokchiang. When I told her she is in rumah sakit, a malay term for hospital, she was a little upset and started moaning "no,no rumah sakit". We ended the conversation and watched some tv with her. She commented "oh how dirty" when Keeng pointed out a horse was shitting. She fell asleep now and then and is able to take in a few spoonful of fluid and sucked in some tomato based soup from the dinner tray. 3.40pm, Dr Topalidis came with the medicine Bleomycin. 4.45pm, He and nurse Marion did the chemical pleurodesis procedure by infusing it thru Grandma's chest tube. We had to wait outside. Done in 10 mins. They wanted to fuse up the cavity between the chest area and her right lung. The medicine wil create inflammation in the cavity causing it to collapse and close up. It might take up to 2 days. She is being turned to lie on her left and back and right every half hour to allow the medicine to totally fill up the area to do the job. The doctor clamped up the tube so that the medicine will not be drained off. Grandma will be monitored that her breathing will not become labored the next few days. 5.10 pm, her BP a little elevated at 149/67. temp 97.3. She is sleeping.
